[bıvurne] Dokumantasyon

This template is used to configure the articles found in the Selected product section found on some Wikipedia Portal main pages. Use it on the article pages that are linked to the Selected product sub-page, e.g. Portal:Foo/Selected product/1. For the quickest and easiest way to create the Portal:Foo/Selected bar sub-page and related article links, use one of the {{Numbered subpages}} templates.

Template layout

{{Selected product

| size    =
| caption =
| name    =
| mfr     =
| page    = <!--- Required --->
| type = <!--- Required if using custom name, e.g beers. It should be plural and will default to products. --->
| text    = <!--- Required --->
| link    = <!--- Required --->
}}

It is unnecessary to include braces, quotation marks or other wiki-markup in the template. The |text= field does allow the use of wiki-markup at the contributor's discretion.

  • image - Places an image relating to the subject of the article on the left side of the section.
  • size - Sets the image size, if left out or left blank it will default to 150px. Values must be entered xxxpx.
  • caption - Creates a caption for the image.
  • name - The name of the product.
  • mfr - Manufacturer of the product.
  • page - is used to set the page that the product list resides on, e.g. |name=beer would set More selected foo link to look for the sub-pages at Portal:Beer/Selected beer.
  • type - sets the type of business in the More selected foo link, in the example above the value of beers makes it read More selected beers. This value should always be stated in a plural form. It will default to More selected products if left blank or left out.
  • text - A brief summary of the subject.
  • link - sets the link in the Read more... that points to the full article.

The long form of this template places the products name immediately to the left of the portrait and gives you the option of adding the manufacturer of the product. If the |name= field is not included, the template will not include the |mfr= parameter.

Red Stripe lager
Produced by Desnoes & Geddes Limited

Red Stripe is a Jamaican lager-style beer brewed by Desnoes & Geddes Limited. The first Red Stripe was brewed in the Surry Brewery in 1928, an ale style beer that was too heavy to suit local preferences. The current lager formulation was first produced in 1938 from a recipe developed by Paul H. Geddes and Bill Martindale. The modern brewery was opened at Hunt's Bay in 1958. In 1993, 51 percent ownership in Desnoes & Geddes Limited was purchased by Guinness Brewing Worldwide, now Diageo, an acquisition that has significantly increased the international distribution of Red Stripe. A new Red Stripe Light has also been added which is brewed in Jamaica and bottled in the Guinness facilities in Stamford, Connecticut.

Because the |name= field formats the subject's name so that it is in bold text, it is suggested that you do not put the subjects name in bold in the text of the article.
